First job, unpaid:  Head Start volunteer at age 14 (the first year there was 
such a program).  Lesson learned:  I'd rather teach adults than little 
children.

First job, paid:  Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, summer clerk.  
Lesson learned:  Do your job well, and co-workers will value and respect 
you no matter how insignificant that job seems.
