Ginny Jones says "I am still amazed at how many folks believe that unless the
word "email" is specifically used in the definition, it is not subject to any
other recordkeeping rules and regs." To that I say, me too. I have been in
records management well before the "birth" of e-mails and have "preached" the
value of the content, not the mode of transportation. My favorite analogy is
the envelope and the e-mail. You open the envelope and manage the content of
what was in that envelope. You open the e-mail and manage the content of what
is in the e-mail. No matter how hard I try, my efforts fall on deaf ears.
