The congregational archives manager will be responsible for providing
leadership, direction, effective planning and coordination of the Sisters
of St. Francis and the St. Marianne Cope Shrine & Museum archives.
Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to, the development of: congregational
policies and procedures for collections management, tailoring to our
religious community; a long-term plan for the collection, identifying
objectives and specifying the strategies and actions needed to achieve
them; and an archival program which addresses a plan for future additions
to the existing collection, as well as a final external repository.  Incumbent
will also manage, organize, provide direction and supervise all archive
personnel and will report to the leadership team.  Position is located in
Syracuse, NY.



Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree in History or related field; MLS from an
ALA accredited program or MA in related field preferred; certification with
ACA (Academy of Certified Archivists) high desired -- or pursuing
certification; proven management experience and records management
background; in-depth knowledge of archival principles and practices with an
emphasis on religious congregations; ability to work independently and to
make archival decisions; excellent communication, public speaking and
writing skills; ability to take concepts and convert to strategic and
tactical plans; knowledge of File Maker Pro or similar archivist program;
proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Valid drivers’ license.
