Hi Charlene,

1. I'd be interested in what permanent informational value you consider
the deeds to have after you've sold the property. I'd keep them for [x]
years based on statutes of limitations for actions on sale of property.
But what is the informational value beyond that? If you can articulate
that to me, you can articulate that to your board.

2. If you are the archivist and consider a document to have permanent
historical value to your organization, why do you need your board's
permission to keep them? Do they have that much volume as to set them
apart from the rest of your collections?

3. Deeds are typically filed in a county or local office, and so in theory
at least you'd always have access to them. Would that suit your
informational need?

Thanks,
Gary Link
