Good morning all,

My company (a DOE Contractor) has a requirement for each organization to have a Records Inventory and Disposition Schedule (RIDS) that includes an inventory of all the organization's records, custodians, retention schedules, retention periods, cut-off instructions, and locations of the records.

We're considering changing this process and we're wondering what works or doesn't work for others for inventorying records. Do you have a similar inventory process? If you do, do the inventories include retention schedules, custodians, etc? If you have a different process, what do you do instead? Is your inventory approved by a representative in the organization and the records management organization?

If you have any examples that you don't mind sharing, please send them to my email directly.

Your comments and recommendations are much appreciated.
