If? IF????

This has been going on FOREVER, in the electronic information paradigm especially. 

Even when some rudimentary metadata is added, without sufficient identification, you're left to search for digital needles in digital haystacks, many times getting false hits into the thousands in searches... That is, IF the information hasn't gone stale or been rendered unusable in some other manner.

The 'promise' was that information governance would solve this, but that was all hooey.  It simply put a term on an inexact process to place the blame on, and lined the pockets of those providing "certifications" for it.
