Regarding Yammer, and other apps that are available via O365,  your IT admin can enable and/or disable any app your company does not want you to use - except for 1D4B.


So, SP, Yammer, Delve, etc., can be disabled and not show/appear on the O365 menu.   Regarding Yammer, the enterprise version is much better than previous versions. For example, based on our initial research of Yammer Enterprise, we have found that it offers Admin tools for the management and governance of the Yammer network. These tools and controls are not available with Yammer basic/Yammer freemium.  We have also learned that Verified Admins can export all Yammer data - Yammer Data Export Packages - including all messages, notes, files, topics, users, and groups, this information would be for Compliance purposes and records keeping if needed.  Verified Admins can also deactivate existing users, block users from joining Yammer network, etc.

Some of these are social media types of applications like Yammer and Sway.  They just appeared one day!  Without much opportunity to vet and govern these applications prior to suddenly appearing on users’ screens, you can imagine the concerns and complications it creates.
