*Empowering Staff to Drive Change; or How Staff become Leaders* ARMA Boston
January Event.

This panel will explore the model used by the Ropes & Gray RIM department
to build leadership among staff and to drive departmental change. RIM
Analysts, records clerks, and file room managers all play a strong role in
creating an atmosphere of change within a department or a firm because of
their intimate knowledge of systems, processes, and corporate culture.
Giving staff a role in change management additionally provides a path for
leadership development.

At Ropes & Gray, the RIM Department held a “RIM Summit” in January, 2016,
to formally address the daily and strategic issues that challenge the
department. The Summit formed the basis of the year’s goals and set forth a
common path to put ideas into action. Issues addressed included risk
management, file management, electronic records processes, and matter
mobility. Over the past year, staff led teams to address these issues.

Please join us as Abraham Miller and his team discuss the merits of this
change management model, including what worked well and what could be
improved upon.
