Due to inclement weather, the ARMA NOVA chapter is postponing the
meeting scheduled for Wednesday, March 15. The new date for the
meeting is Wednesday, March 29.

Our meeting topic is "Presidential Directive: How Meeting M-12-18
Objectives Supports the Mission and Saves Money," and our speaker is
Mark Mandel from Open Text.

The Managing Government Records Directive, NARA/OMB M-12-18, has
triggered a wave of interest in records management across all federal
agencies and the DOD. The 2016 deadline for email records management
has focused attention on managing email, and the 2019 deadline for all
permanent record implies a move to an all-digital enterprise.

This effort is an enabler for other agency and CIO priorities such as the
Cyber Security National Action Plan, Driving Value in Federal IT, Digital
Strategy, Future Ready Workforce and more.

This session illustrates how agency top priorities are impacted by an
effective approach to managing information. Best practices for addressing
enterprise deployment of records management for email and other content
will be addressed, highlighting mistakes to avoid in order to reduce rework.
Significant cost savings and efficiencies are realized if the strategy and
deployment for M-12-18 are in sync with agency priorities.

Find out why so many people keep coming back to ARMA NOVA meetings.
