Addendum to my wall-of-text message earlier today about National Security
Council records and White House records management practices, NARA's role,
info literacy.

Many of us have worked or work closely with government lawyers or corporate
counsel. As you know, some legal issues are clear cut with defined and
established "do" and "do not." Others have room for interpretation. This
applies to national security issues and officials. too. If you're
interested in really getting into the weeds on national security and
intelligence community and records issues, Lawfare is a group blog where
multiple authors, including legal scholars and former Federal officials,
share assessments. https://www.lawfareblog.com/

Some of the issues are beyond the scope of this Listserv while others
directly related. The combination of theory and praxis is useful for
navigating some of the more complex issues. That there are interpretive
differences on some practices and issues in the news fits with how lawyers
operate in this very interesting governmental sphere.

Although not everyone here on the List works directly with these issues,
you never know what lies ahead in your career or where you make take future
jobs. So it is worth checking out Lawfare for interesting essays and
dialogue among diverse experts.
