Carol, we scan approximately 1 million HR Docs/year. We use Bell &
Howell scanners, Kofax capture software and EMC Legato DM system. It
works very well for us. The HR department is very satisfied with the
approach.
I know that the Spescom system has business rules applications; however,
a point of caution, does the system's business rules address retention
of the imaged documents. Without this functionality, you basically are
creating an electronic repository of numerous records that can not be
feasibly managed from a records perspective in the future.
