Steve, I understand your point, which I found to be the majority view of managers in the UK.  But I have found that to bring a global  program to life so as to become part of the fabric of the business, one needs to consider the use of branding concepts.  When a name of a RIM program takes on no secondary meaning and is too descriptive, it can limit promotion and awarness creativity.  Employees are left with the impression that it is merely another legal or compliance requirement.  We used icons and mascots, which created a buzz about the program (even talk that it was silly and ridiculous) and all employees came to associate the program with those icons.  We thus were able to achieve success because if you asked an employee randomly about the program, they immediately knew and the thought brought a smile to their face.
