See my answers below.

I'm sure there are many more reasons, but hope these few help.

Subject: [RM] Records Management under IT - Yes or No?

Would anyone like to put their 2 cents in on the following topic....

Why a document control/records management/knowledge management function...

*...SHOULD NOT be placed under the information technology group???

-IT management may (try to) force improper policies and procedures in place
due to lack of understanding

-Some organizations/business units may not see IT as a group to "enforce"
policies on issues such as RM

*...SHOULD be placed under the information technology group???

-IT gets lots of funding

-IT touches many records directly and indirectly through systems

-Records are (frequently) part of the IT resources of an organization

Thanks for any input you may have.
