Hi all, and with apologies for cross-posting,
I am conducting research as part of an ARMA International Education
Foundation (US) research project on email management. With the assistance of
some folks from the RECMGMT-L list, I have developed a survey that asks
questions about personal email usage and organizational policies. The survey
can be found here:

Couple of caveats:
1. This survey is completely anonymous. I think Surveymonkey sets a
cookie so your answers can be saved locally until you submit the survey -
but I don't have access to any data in the cookie. There is a question
asking for your email address if you want to be contacted about the survey,
but it, like all the questions on the survey, is optional. I have no way of
knowing who you are.
2. The results of the survey will not be shared with ANYONE. Not other
associations. Not my employer. Not YOUR employer. They will be used to
create a research paper which will be presented at ARMA 2007 in Baltimore,
and I believe that research paper will be available for download from the
AIEF website at some point. But the raw data will not be shared with anyone
- period.
3. I will not use the results of the survey for anything else - not
for clients/prospects, not for internal use, not for existing projects. Once
the research paper is complete I will turn over the raw results to the AIEF
and get rid of them on my systems.
Based on the pilot folks' feedback, the survey may take up to 20 minutes;
the average was about 8. I hope you will consider completing the survey -
the more responses we get, the more valid they will be. If you want to
forward to someone else, either within your organization, one of your
clients, or someone else entirely, please feel free to do so. If you want to
forward to another list, please either forward this exact email or send me
the list POC so I can make contact with them directly.
Any assistance you can provide with this endeavor will only serve to make it
better and more useful to the AIEF and to the information management
profession more broadly. If you have any questions or concerns please feel
