(Donning my flame-retardant suit)

And I will offer forth the opinion that the majority of the CRMs from those
days that are still practicing possess knowledge that is equally as, if not
more relevant, than the ones who passed in the mid-1990s forward.

Some of the earlier comments about studying to pass the test versus
attaining a solid body of knowledge from practice and experience in
real-world situations is why I say this. It's evidenced by many questions
that are routinely posed on the Listserv by people whose sig line includes
the designation "CRM" that are asking things that a CRM should know without
having to open a book in many cases.

I can't (and won't) cite specific examples presently , but I'm sure if
you're a long time List watcher, you've seen them too... or if you keep
your eyes peeled, you'll see them again.

Every time I see one, I make a 3x5 card out with their name on it and put it
in my Rolodex until I can punch out a Hollerith to include it in the stack
for my database (that's an old RIM reference, but I'm sure John and Doug
caught it!) =)

Kids today, I tellya. =8^P
