Under Virginia FOIA law, employee personal files are not released in
response to a FOIA request.  The Virginia Freedom of Information Act is
based on the federal FOIA which applies only to government entities.
Under the Virginia Government Data Collection and Dissemination Act
(personal privacy), employees may see the contents of their own personal
file, but no time period is given for response.  This Act is based on
the federal Privacy Act of 1974, which applies only to the federal
Executive Branch of government.
