In addition to what Peter mentions, one of the first acts as an employee of 
many types organizations, is the signing of an agreement relating to the 
protection of confidential/corporate information.  In addition to not 
disclosing information to inappropriate parties, most mention that anything 
of the organization's will be returned to the organization upon employee's 
departure from the organization.  That includes equipment, documents, files, 
disks, reports, etc..

They have policies, guidance and training materials that could be of 
assistance.
