The short answer is: It depends.

It depends if your paper is pH neutral or very close to pH neutral. If it
is, it will probably say so on the wrapping paper. An easy test is to put
a sheet in a very sunny/hot spot for a few days with part of the paper
covered by a book or something light impermeable. In a few days you should
see discoloring if the paper is very acidic - like newspaper.
It depends on the type of cardboard used for the storage boxes. Acidic
cardboard will leech out to your folders and papers, turning them yellow
and brittle. The same goes for folders.
It depends what environmental controls your offsite storage has - stable
temperature and humidity. Fluctuations in either will encourage
mold/mildew to take root. Vermin (rats, silverfish, roaches, wasps, etc)
love all papers especially when they're in warm/hot and humid
environments, and when people eat and leave crumbs with the records it's a
bug's paradise.

Archival qualities of recycled copier paper?

Does anyone know if recycled copier paper would have a lesser shelf life
than nonrecycled copier paper, when archived under normal conditions? I've
googled and checked the listserv archives, but can't find any comparisons
of this.

Thank you,
