My analogy holds given the timescales. Back in 1900 there were no
comprehensive interlocking agreements either. Rome wasn't built in a day.
But there was a local grid, and a couple years later there were some local
agreements between e.g. Houston's grid and Galveston's grid, and a couple
years later, and a couple years later, and eventually we had the grid.
Telecom grid same thing. Information grid? Here before you know it.
The Amazon list thing is a different issue.
