Dear Colleagues, In response to the post below calling for tagging of
financial products and enhanced governance of data about financial
instruments, I am very pleased to inform you that the Centre for the
Investigation of Financial Electronic Records (CIFER Research) is working
directly with the Enterprise Data Management Council through the Open
Financial Data Group on this issue.  

On August 24 & 25, representatives of the EDMC, the US Treasury Office of
Financial Research, and international domain experts will attend a 1.5 day
workshop in Vancouver hosted by CIFER Research on Records and Information
Management for Financial Analysis and Risk Management.  The major themes to
be explored will be governance, analytics (including semantics, metadata and
visual analytics) and digital preservation.  For more information about this
