First of all, let me say I am not a CRM. I have submitted the paperwork and am on the fence about taking the test. Ironically one of the deterrents that I face is that from the practice exam I thought Part V sounded really outdated. If someone is an ethical CRM, in terms of if they follow the code of ethics, the last point is, "Certified Records Managers shall strive for continuing proficiency and effectiveness in their profession and shall contribute to further research, development, and education." Based on that, it sounds like an assumption is being made that those who obtain the CRM are taking the initiative upon themselves to stay current with RIM technological trends and thus do not need to be retested.
Also, is it just me or is it somewhat self-aggrandizing that section 1 of the test includes questions about the code of ethics? Sorry, I got off track.
