I doubt I'm the only one who played this board game, so hoping the subject
line draws some of you in =)

I recall someone posting something back in 2012 (and yes, I HAVE searched
the Archives) about the destruction of microfilm. A question had been
asked about the best method to destroy a large volume of classified
microfilm or microfiche to meet the DOD Standard requirements.

The most common options had been put forward (shredding, pulverizing,
burning, chemical bath) but holes had been poked in most of them (results
too large, clogging up Hammermill, toxic fumes, images sticking together,
some remaining viable) but there was one person who offered a suggestion
that wasn't available to most people that they had used.

The film was placed in a barrel with chemical/nuclear waste and sealed,
then sent of to storage in a facility where it would remain essentially "in
perpetuity".

I searched for microfilm, microfiche, destruction, sludge, chemical,
nuclear, classified, WIPP... but no luck. I think the discussion was in
late 2011 or early 2012, but I might be incorrect.

Ring any bells with anyone?

TRhanks in advance

Larry
