We (RMs) said the same thing 20 years ago about email - don't think it
worked out for us either.
I do understand the sentiment but it's a microcosm of business: whatever
business you're in, the tools that make it easier are the tools users will
use, and no amount of carrot or stick to the contrary is going to change
that over the long run.
