I've been biting my lip and am not really interest in starting a
firefight again but the list has been pretty quiet lately...
So what you are saying is that an IGers (for a lack of a better term)
is a jack of all trades and master of none. I would be interested in
knowing how many IGers are experts let alone perform all of the
functions you identify.
To be an effective RIMer (my current job anyway) I have to have
knowledge of all these disciplines, some more than others. I have to
look at the big picture (strategic) as well as all of the operations
(tactical.) I view all of these groups as stakeholders and must be
able to speak their language. I also communicate with them - they
with me as well.
This goes back to previous discussions we have had on this topic - IG
is essentially in the eyes of the beholder. Sort of like trying to
grab jello from a punch bowl.
Thank goodness it is hump day.
