All of our organizations are required to review their web sites every year
to look for links that may have "aged out" and repair them.  Worst case for
me is when the aged out links (say, to a pdf of a procedure) haven't been
replaced, they were simply deleted.  Then you have to contact the web
master, who contacts the content owner, who tells you if there is a
'replacement item' or not... if not, you have to find another way to fix
your pointer.

Back in the day, we used to HARVEST the actual content of all linked
information, and keep a copy of it in a 'references and resources' folder
for the website, then we could be self sufficient.  Remind me why we don't
do THIS any more???
