Planning for Information Governance Success: Tier Your IG Steering Committee

Information governance (IG) is, in short, "security, control, and
optimization of information." If you look over some of the research and
anecdotal observations on information governance (IG) programs you will find
that often IG efforts are slow to start, and they get put on hold, and
re-start, and maybe the effort is abandoned and then later, it dawns on
executives that the "IG problem" (e.g. compliance failures, fines, and
sanctions; soaring litigation costs due to poor IG; risks of colossal
information breaches; failure to capitalize on emerging opportunities by
leveraging analytics)  isn't going away so they re-start again...
