I need a thesis statement for a research paper. I am finishing up a
degree with a specialization in cyber security. I'd like to do an
information governance
or records management spin on it. I am new to the field so I am having a
hard time coming up with a "problem" statement that I can back-up with the
points, and also recommend changes to fix the problem.

I work for the federal govt and would like the research to be rooted in
federal info mgmt issues.

Any ideas for a thesis statement would be greatly appreciated! I am
currently looking through the articles that have been posted since I
joined
the list a couple of weeks ago trying to get ideas.

Havilah,
Consider using the list archives and searching the Sony hack. That was a
story wherein cyber security and information governance intersected (i.e.,
many people believed that good information governance would have mitigated
the damage), and I believe there was some discussion about it on the list,
as well as off-list articles. You might extract a thesis from that case.
It's not federal, but I think any lessons learned would be universal.
