The City of Sugar Land is working on an Open Data/Document Policy, where the City will provide information for citizens to download from a centralized site. Much of this data will come from our ERP system. I can foresee a conflict with providing this data and our adopted retention schedules. When I look at open data policies from other organizations I have not yet seen any mention of removing this data once it has met its retention. Does anyone have experience with this conundrum and if so how was their open data policy crafted to account for this, or not?
