We keep all the due diligence materials for 10 years. The actual purchase or sale agreement and collateral docs are kept permanently — typically we just keep the entire closing binder, but that was because it was a convenient place to find all the related documents. Now that we have a better records management system in place and the individual documents can be found, I may revisit that practice in the next revision to the retention schedule.
