Aloha Listserv Friends and Colleagues,
Just a friendly reminder that seating is limited to 75 attendees, so make your plans to join us at our friendly shores, as the ARMA Hawaii Chapter will be holding its annual Spring seminar on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 featuring William Saffady.
Information governance creates a strategic framework that aligns information-related initiatives with an organization’s mission. It has quickly become the focus of records management attention in companies, government agencies, and other organizations, but its relationship to RIM remains confusing. Is it a new field or a rebranding of well established ideas, an evolved form of records management or a replacement for it? This session will review the key characteristics of information governance, emphasizing its distinctive characteristics, its business justification, its relationship to records management, the roles and responsibilities of IG stakeholders, the integration of information governance with other information-related disciplines, and enabling technologies for information governance. The session is based on the speaker’s new book on information governance, which will be published by ARMA International in 2016.
This seminar is for anyone managing records, developing or evaluating the state of your Information Governance Program.
- Understand how records management has evolved
- Learn the "key characteristics" of information governance
- Ensure that all "stakeholders" are involved with your IG program
- Develop an Information Governance program through the use of enabling technologies
