Data Migration: What Records Managers Need to Know

If you are a records manager for any period of time, you will be tasked
with leading a document management, records management or other
software project. Most software implementations will include a migration of
data from the old dusty system(s) to the shiny new system. Many
underestimate the work required to move the data from the old system(s)
to the new system. Or, many will think data migration is solely an IT task.

This session will discuss:

•	why many data migration projects fail

•	the four golden rules of data migration

•	a data migration methodology
