We have periodically had this discussion regarding one perceived non-RIM issue or another since the Listserv began in 1993. And the same responses come through - both pro and con. I have yet to see anything that is totally non-RIM related, especially considering the levels of responsibility the professional field involves. The discussions cover the whole gambit - from how to do a basic RIM task to problem solving and (the part I find challenging) finding the pertinence of the discussions to RIM requirements. The pertinence is usually there, although some of the earlier 1990's discussions got way off target (the great chili discussions come to mind). And we always see the same advice given in response to the request to keep one thing or another of the list because it is not RIM related. I consider it every list members right to speak their mind - both for and against an issue or a post. For the most part, I learn quite a bit from the posts (even after nearly 50 years in the RIM profession) - even the posts about posts! 8-)
