Hello!

I am new to the field of RIM in that this is the first position that I have held--I am a Records
Administrator. I just started with a corporation that one year ago created a RRS for the first
time. Unfortunately, no records series has a reference to which source was used to
determine retention/destruction. They just asked departments what they thought it should
be.

I will be reviewing the RRS and amending as I see fit, but would also like to adjust the
retention guidelines per legal and regulatory requirements. The issue that I am having is I
am not sure where to go for an initial resource. Again, we are a corporation in the State of
Oregon.

Someone suggested that I start with the Oregon State Archive and use their guidelines, but
their RRS specifically relates to Government and Public Records. Wouldn't my organization's
RRS be different?

Any help would be great!
