“First came the Industrial Revolution. Then the Internet Revolution. And
today we have made a firm step into the dawn of a third revolution called
the ‘‘Internet of Things’’ or ‘‘IoT.’’

The deluge of data from the IoT is going to get more dramatic in the next
few years and the changes in technology and the business environment make it
challenging for organizations to develop successful, practical Information
Governance (IG) and Records Management (RM) policies and practices.

As the IoT develops, the massive amount of data discoverable in litigation
will significantly outpace the data tidal wave that is swamping e-discovery
professionals. With the rapid ramping up of interconnections that has
already started, the number of devices and objects that InfoGov and
e-discovery professionals must collect and preserve data from will be almost
never ending. These professionals need guidance to manage the impact of the
IoT trend.

We have researched and published a new Management Guide, printed in
full-color, written in clear, concise terms to assist IG managers,
compliance managers, e-discovery professionals, General Counsel, and others
in analyzing and formulating meaningful and effective IG and RM policies and
processes.
