We in the RIM/ILG world pretty much agree that backups are business continuity measures and are not official records of our organizations. I've gone through the list archives and read past discussions to confirm this. But my question is, do there exist any pronouncements to this effect by industry organizations like ARMA and AIIM, or standards organizations, or any declarations of any kind from any organization stating that backups are not records? Just wondering.
