ARMA Liberty Bell Chapter Meeting
Date: November 15, 2016 (Tuesday)
Speakers: Jeff Watson and Johan Widjaja
Presentation Topic: Using DATA to BUILD or REMODEL INFORMATION GOVERNANCE
Information governance ("IG"), as a concept within the legal industry and other industries,
is slowly maturing, and we are starting to see law firms and companies implement IG
programs. When and how to start such a program, however, has been an evolving study of
trial and error. We believe that we can mitigate any trial and error with data. Our
presentation will focus on making data-driven decisions throughout the building or
remodeling of information governance (program) within the enterprise.
Data has a role in establishing business cases; throughout project phases, such as planning
and implementation; and in control and enforcement. However, to reap the benefits of
useful data analysis, it is often necessary to create the appropriate framework by distilling
the data to building blocks that tie the data all together. Through case studies, we will
discuss our approach to data and the building and promoting of our IG program.
