Please join the Northern Virginia chapter of ARMA (ARMA NOVA) for our
November meeting.  Our chapter theme this year is “Building Success Through
Relationships”
People, Process & Technology – learn the steps to success for your
rganization’s business information!

What is an Information Governance Officer? In this case study, follow the
inaugural two-year journey of a large UK professional services firm's first
Information Governance Officer, including defining the role, setting the
strategy, organizing the work, collaborating with others, identifying
stakeholders, and digging in to accomplish real work. This session will also
cover differences between the UK, EU and US information governance business
drivers for achieving success. Attendees will also receive a sample
Information Governance Officer job description.

This session will be presented by Melissa Suek, Information Risk Management
and Governance Consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Upon completing this
session, you will be able to:
1.	Identify important skills and traits for success as an information
governance officer
2.	Define a model for organizing information governance work, including
records management
3.	Engage stakeholders in your information governance program
4.	Describe at least five differences or similarities between information
governance priorities in the US and the UK

OUR SPEAKER	 
 
Melissa Suek, IGP, MBA, MS has spent nearly 15 years implementing
information management programmes, from launching a company's first intranet
site to using today's data analytic tools to analyse unstructured content
and make defensible disposal decisions, with training, education, policy
authoring, retention schedule creation and other experiences in between. She
has spoken extensively on information governance and records management
related topics, and lived and worked in the US and UK.
