As I mentioned in this FCW article, the Federal government will never
effectively manage the lifecycle of their records - nor meet the
requirements of the Presidential Records Management Directive - until
agencies completely eliminate DoD 5015.2 compliance from their enterprise
records management solution requirements.

Back in 2012, the Obama administration laid down a marker for records
management that is coming due in a matter of days. By the end of 2016,
federal agencies are required to manage email records in electronic format.
