We only keep the vendor-issued Certificates of Destruction for one (1) year, BUT the metadata (which include much more detail than the Certificates because our off-site storage vendor only has box numbers) are retained permanently in our Records Management Application.



The Permanent retention for the metadata is justified by the long lifespans of our projects, contracts, and infrastructure.
