3 years for us.

Sharon, have you checked the weather websites lately? We have a winter
storm coming in from the Pacific. Supposed to be snow at 7,000 feet and
above tonight and tomorrow. You are very likely to get some of this
too.

Best regards, Steve

I'm with you, Lee - we keep the actual approved retention schedules
permanently, but all supporting documentation regarding annual
disposition activities are retained 6 years. I remember Don Skupsky
talking about this in a seminar a few years ago. I believe he said that
destruction notices can't REALLY prove that a particular record was
destroyed anyway, so why in heaven's name would you keep them
permanently? Goes along with the "normal course of business" theory.

It's GORGEOUS in Colorado today and a BEAUTIFUL weekend is on the
way!!

Lakewood's records management objectives: 1) Information is available
when needed; 2) Records of permanent value are preserved; 3)
Non-permanent records are destroyed per approved retention schedules; 4)
Discarded paper is recycled.
