At American Honda Motor Co., Inc., Information Management is the division
concerned with the hardware and software that manages the data (bits and
bytes) used here.  They do not concern themselves with what the bits and
bytes mean, just that they are created, used and stored reliably and
cheaply, and the meta data is maintained when necessary.  So, if you do not
deal with the hardware and software, I'd say calling yourself the Records
and Information Management Department would be a misnomer.
