As encouraged by Peter K, I have the pleasure of introducing myself to your list - and I promised I'd be brief:

I run a small management consultancy primarily in the not-for-profit sector and have recently taken on an admin job on a contract basis. Some aspects of the organization(s) I'm dealing with have difficulty with records management issues. I understand the field in a general way but felt I could benefit from connecting with professionals on such a mailing list.
So, I'm in sponge mode - to learn "the secrets of the trade."
