Hi Ben --

We archive our email in a similar manner and have established 7 years as
the required retention period.  As we have many registrations --
broker/dealer, investment advisor, investment company, transfer agent,
Washington state bank (non-depository), commodity pool advisor -- 6
years is the longest regulated retention requirement for email, so we
increased the retention to 7 years for ease of administration.

"best practices" for the retention period for e-mails when the e-mails
are archived in a "bucket" manner and are not declared records.  Any
