<If "certain providers" are providing google with the medical
information on individuals wouldn't they be liable for disclosing the
information in violation of HIPPA?>

One of the Basic Principles of information disclosure under HIPAA
removes that burden of liability if there is written authorization from
the person to whom this iformation applies (i.e., the patient).  I
*think* that's premise behind Google's proposition...They'll need you to
authorize it first.
