It is possible that your scanner is a Black & White or grey scale only scanner.

Subject: [RM] Scanning Color Images
Hello Listservers,
I have color images I am scanning into the system but, the color portions of
the image aren't being reproduced once the document is scanned. I've tried
the darkest settings on a copier, to no avail. Other than going to the
Institution and having then change their ink/font are there any suggestions?
