The National Archives of Australia is leading the implementation of the
Government's Digital Transition Policy in consultation with the
Australian Government Information Management Office (AGIMO) and the
Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

As part of the policy the Archives has released its Digital Continuity
Plan which addresses the benefits to business brought about by good
governance - focusing on the business; the people, processes and
technology; and the information itself.

The plan provides guidance for government agencies to ensure their
digital information and records remain accessible and usable for as long
as required. It is intended to promote better information management
practice and avoid unnecessary stockpiles of digital records into the
future.
