JUNEAU, Alaska: Alaska court says public business on private email still

JUNEAU, Alaska — The Alaska Supreme Court on Friday ruled that officials
can use private email accounts to conduct state business, and that email on
private accounts may be public records subject to public disclosure, ending
a contentious debate dating back to the administration of Gov. Sarah Palin.

The high court's ruling upholds a lower court opinion that found that use
of private email accounts wasn't in itself a violation of state public
records law.
