Senior Records Information Manager
Description:
Experienced Records Information Manager needed to fill a key position on a
contract team supporting a Federal government records and information
management program. This position leads a team of records managers
performing daily administration of agency-wide electronic records
management (ERM) system, electronic file plan development, system
configuration and maintenance. Team responsibilities include extensive
customer service and user assistance, system troubleshooting, problem
solving and user acceptance. They also develop and conduct user training,
and help maintain program documentation, standard operating procedures,
and tracking systems.
Candidate will assist agency records officer in developing program
strategies and objectives, as well as planning and implementing new
program initiatives. Must understand the unique challenges of ERM, and
track, evaluate, and review emerging trends for their value to the
customer’s information management program. Duties also include
maintaining the agency retention schedules, developing training and
briefings on RM-related activities, and assisting the project manager with
contract reporting.
Must have demonstrated experience with ERM, file plans, records retention
schedules, NARA requirements, and other aspects of Federal records
program management. Candidate will participate on various project teams
and working groups; and must be able to communicate effectively, analyze
concepts, make recommendations, and produce project documentation.
Location is in downtown Washington, DC.
Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience:
A Master’s Degree in Library or Information Science or equivalent degree;
or at least 10 years of records management experience plus a relevant
records management certification is mandatory. Relevant certifications are
a current Certified Records Manager (CRM) from the Institute of Certified
Records Managers, a Certificate in Federal Records Management from the
National Archives, or a Certified Information Professional (CIP) from AIIM
International.
Must have a minimum of 10 years progressive records management
experience, preferably in the federal records arena, and an expert
knowledge of electronic records management. Extensive customer
interaction, strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
Must be able to meet agency’s security clearance requirements.
