To all of my RIM Colleagues,

I like Fred Grevin have some issues with 100% QA of Images Scanned.

There is a Standard that works.

E.g. ANSI-AIIM Standard MS 44-1988 [REVISED 1993] titled "Recommended
Practice for Quality Control of Image Scanners available @
http://www.techstreet.com/cgi-bin/detail?product_id=1275

This Standard is available in a PDF Format for Immediate download @ $39.00
USD

It is worth the $'s.

Follow this Standard & you can carry out the Test of your Scanner with a
Resolution Test Target at the Start of the Job [or first this in the morning
or start of the shift] & then ant the end of the Job[or the last thing at
Night or the end of the shift] & EUREKA Job Done.

If your Test is OK at the START & also at the END of each Job, Shift or Day
then everything in between is OK. Sign off & you have met your QA
Requirements.

All you need is a Resolution Test Target Suitable for your Scanner at A, B C
D or E size to fulfill the testing requirements.

I have Penned a few Articles on the Subject of Scanning & Quality Assurance
which are available @ http://www.microfilm.net.au/articles.shtml

Regards, Laurie
