I fully support Tim Cook's stance on this.
However, the one thing this makes clear is something a number of us have
discussed here before... *IF* you have information on your smartphones (or
computers, for that matter) that you WANT FAMILY MEMBERS to have access to
in the event of a catastrophe or event that leaves you incapacitated (or
worse), YOU NEED to have your passcodes/passwords written down somewhere
they have access to!!!
Whether you give them to a trusted third party in a sealed envelope to pass
along to your family in the event of an incident of some type, or place
them in a safe deposit box, or put them in a file stored in a limited
access granted cloud type account, they HAVE TO BE made available, or the
data is lost.
